This is an Excel worksheet I created based on the calculations I found for calculating most R/C Transmitter mixes. It is designed to help you identify the effective range of a mix (finding the low, medium and high values).

This article is about how I did the maintenance on my Hobbico Torqmaster 90 deluxe which is a 12 Volt starter for remote controlled (RC) aircraft. I wanted to change the rubber nose to get a better grip on my Avistar Elite spinner. I ended up disassembling the whole unit before understanding what I should have done.

With all TV shows comes a bunch of TV ads that I do not want to keep and waste time and disk space for. I encode all my videos using Handbrake because it supports quality based H264 encoding and 5.1 surround sounds but unfortunately, it does not support removing ads.

For those interested, here is the first sequence of images I captured with my Canon EOS SL1 in order to make a timelapse video of the unpacking of the aircraft RC Avistar Elite .46.

At the time, I didn’t know the basic principles that were required to capture good pictures for a timelapse video. So I proceeded with the exact opposite of what was required: Auto Focus, auto exposure adjustment, automatic white balance, use of the flash and capture with low batteries. Time-lapse photography is a wonderful effect to make your images alive instead of static because you can make a plain (or almost boring) event and make it so much more dramatic. However, it is something that usually needs a lot of time investment to get something acceptable.

Considering my family was planning to decorate the Christmas tree during the weekend, I decided to take my camera and capture the whole event in a time-lapse video. To get a nice video, you need to prepare yourself before taking the shots because if you don’t, you can end up with a bad picture set and have a hard time merging all pictures together.

HDHomeRun TV Dump

HdHomeRun TV Dump is a GUI that installs over the native HDHomeRun application and allows owners to quickly take control over the free to air live TV stream. Implementing DVR capabilities on your computer becomes a easy as 1-2-3.

It is designed to make interaction with the device easy by automating as much as possible any task a user would like to execute.

• Watch live TV streams.

HDHomeRun TV Dump should also work with devices that supports the MPEG4/H.264 video codec but this functionality is still untested.

DNS343Monitor

DNS-343 Monitor is a tool for monitoring how much space is left on your DNS-343 NAS device.

The DNS-343 is a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device that can hold as much as 4 drives. Since all the drives are shared in a Network, each disk can quickly become full. This tools allows you to see the remaining space left on each individual drives.

It’s main features are:

• Show space left and used for each drives.
• GUI supported.
• Compatible with all firmware versions.

Note: This tool requires administrator privileges on the DNS-343 for retrieving free space left.

MSBuildReorder

Please note that MSBuildReorder source code is now moved to GitHub. Source code can be downloaded from the project’s GitHub page.

MSBuildReorder is a tool for “reordering” (buildorder) a multi-process C++ build log. It allows a developer to convert the build log as if it was generated with a single processor.

Building a solution that has multiple projects can quickly become bloated with too many lines that are not related to each other. For this reason, finding the actual cause of a build fail is harder than it should be. MSBuildReorder is able to read the log and reorder the projects in a sequential order.
